(Settlers of Catan)
This is my favorite board game by far. Have you ever played it? I have been playing it for 5 years now and I never tire of it. We (Ryan's family) have taken it so seriously that we have come up with our own rules (or Geneva Convention). It is a supplemental rule book that you must browse before playing the game with us. We even have custom game pieces...mine have been painted pink.
Did you know this game is evil? It seriously can bring out the dirty, competitor player inside you. It has a way of pinning players against each other. Someone always ends up fighting because of the stupid game. I almost think we need to say a prayer before we play. Maybe we should bag the game entirely...wait, I can't do that.
BTW, I won 3 out of 4 games this past weekend. YAY for me!

I too LOVE Settlers. One time when I ws playing with friends I got SOOO mad at Tom for playing a card on me that I pinched his back really hard. Now our friends tease me that I might pinch them if they play a card on me, but I still play and LOVE every minute of it.
I love this game. We play it all the time with friends. My hubby and I have found some good ways to win. I wish we lived closer so we could play. Miss you cuz!
I have only played this game once. I remember it was fun but it was so long ago, maybe I should go out and buy it. Or maybe I am better off with out it. :)

I have gotten SO upset during Settlers, that I have given Mike the silent treatment for a WHOLE day! I'm telling ya, when someone blocks my road or takes that ONE card that I really need with the Robber, I take it personally! How come 4's are always rolled, except when I am on them? I have a LOVE/HATE relationship with that game. I've heard that Leo and Ryan get pretty emotional about it too!
But, like you, I will never give it up!

This game is wicked!! I've never seen so many family fights in my life while playing games. Infact, we had to stop playing on Sunday!! Is it the game or the players?????

I love that you posted about this. When Steve and I were first married, we would play with my family and then as we were making our 20 minute drive home, he would go off about how I didn't play right and how I "jacked" his game... complete b.s. but it would end up in a HUGE fight: tears and everything. So, for a while (for the sake of our marriage) we wouldn't play against each other, one would sit out or we would be on the same team. Now we are back at it and looking forward to a rematch with R&R in the fall!!!!
