Allergy Remedy?

I watch alot of Oprah these days. My favorite Oprah episodes include Dr. Oz. He knows everything about everything. On a recent show he presented a "neti pot". It is also known as a nose bidet. I tried it and I think it may be working. I have awful allergies, headaches, sinus pressure, etc. This seems to be a better way of clearing out your sinuses without all the cold medications.

I have to admit, it looks pretty funky when I actually stick it up my nose. Click here for a demonstration. Best of Luck!

I love Dr. Oz... he's kinda cute.

I saw that episode- those people who tried swore by it. If it works for you, then I will get one. I get HORRIBLE sinus infections. And cold/allergy/sinus medicine always dries me out and I end up with a migraine.

So, let me know!

I meant to say "those people who tried IT swore by it." Blogger needs to add an edit button to the comment field.

Ok, this is very exciting. Not for me, but for my poor hubbie. He has the worst allergies and we live in the grass seed capital of the world. I will have to show him this. Thanks!

I think Dr. Oz is cute too...in a nerdy kind of way.

That reminds me of how my pediatrician recommended using a saline solution before sucking it out stuffy noses with that blue ball-tipped sucker thing for babies. I guess it would work for adults too!

You can also use one of those baby nasal aspirators to accomplish the same thing - I would bet it is cheaper.

But I love salt water for clearing out sinuses - I use it frequently myself, and that is all I ever use for the kids.

If they work as good as those ear candles...then I'm totally game! But does the water really drip out of your other nosie hole?

I actually use a sippy cup instead. And it really does come out the other nosy...feels like I got water up my nose like when I go swimming :)

I love Dr. Oz. I can be heard quoting him daily. I'm sure it's annoying, but what Dr. Oz says I do. I used this idea a little while ago when I had a sinus infection, it seemed to work.

I watched that same show and I told Logan about it because he has problems with allergies too. It didn't work very well at the beginning but after his nose declogged, it has helped him. It is the funniest looking apparatus.
