My Red Carpet Synopsis

I watched some of the E on the RED CARPET tonight. I realized a couple things:

Kate Walsh had a ratty hairball on the side of her face.

Some of my favorite gowns were worn by Ali Larter,Debra Messing, and Minnie Driver...loved them.

Guliana Rancic is super skinny ( I had no idea she married the first Apprentice, Bill...HELLO, where have I been?)

Kristin from E's Watch with Kristin was so cute and funny. I love her interviewing style.

Mary Louise Parker annoyed me. She was a complete bore while Guliana interviewed her. It was really uncomfortable to watch. Part of me wondered if she was on drugs? Her new show is dumb too (Weeds). I watched the first episode and it grossed me out.

Katherine Heigl is really cool. Guliana Rancic interviewed her and she seemed pretty normal. I like normal...

Eva Longoria and Ryan Seacrest are friends. I like when they talk to each other at these events. I find comfort in their friendship.

And yes, I have I really put that much time and thought into the Celebrities and the Emmys?

Something about Tanning

I have been worshipping the sun most of my life. At the young age of 9, I remember spending my Easter vacation laying outside in my backyard. I always hated my white, white skin and all my freckles. I liked to lay out in hopes my freckles would all blend in. The sun actually made my freckles stick out even more and my white skin would burn, turn to a tan, and fade away within days.

In high school, I would skip seminary so I could lay out. Seminary was held at 11 AM which was great laying out suntime. I really looked great at the end of that year...
In college, I would lay out by the pool with baby oil. We would spend weekends at the pool and holidays at Lake Powell and I would return home a nice shade of brown. Again, days later it would fade.
In my 20s, I would go outside acting like I was just reading my book in the sun, but I was totally hoping for a tan. I would pull up my shorts and t-shirt. Is there such a thing as a closet tanner?
As a responsible adult and mother of 2, I no longer lay out (but I want to). I go to the beach and responsibly put on sunscreen. But I am going through a personal dilemma...because I really like having tan legs in the summer. I smother my children with suntan lotion, and I make sure to lotion my at least my face because I really don't like the wrinkly-face-look. Most of my girlfriends go tanning and a part of me wants to have a nice tan all over my body and the other part of me worries about cooking my insides and ugly wrinkles.
I hope that as I mature I will no longer care about looking tan. Even when I say I don't want to get tan, I am totally lying. I don't know, perhaps white skin will becomes fashionable again.
I went to the beach today and I am heading there again next week. I secretly hope to come home with tan legs!

Why do we continue to play?

(Settlers of Catan)
This is my favorite board game by far. Have you ever played it? I have been playing it for 5 years now and I never tire of it. We (Ryan's family) have taken it so seriously that we have come up with our own rules (or Geneva Convention). It is a supplemental rule book that you must browse before playing the game with us. We even have custom game pieces...mine have been painted pink.
Did you know this game is evil? It seriously can bring out the dirty, competitor player inside you. It has a way of pinning players against each other. Someone always ends up fighting because of the stupid game. I almost think we need to say a prayer before we play. Maybe we should bag the game entirely...wait, I can't do that.

BTW, I won 3 out of 4 games this past weekend. YAY for me!

Long Grassy Lawn

This is the look we are going for in our front yard. A nice, long grassy front lawn. Our lawn has not been mowed in 3 weeks. Ryan says he is "letting it seed". Come one! We look like total WT ( I so worry about what the neighbors think).
I refuse to mow the lawn...I take care of the entire house I should not have to take care of the backyard. But once I mow the yard, I will no longer need a husband. I am really not into husband bashing on my blog, ( I like to do it face to face with my friends) so I am sorry Honey.

I suppose it is high time to call a landscaper!

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly
