Decorating Dilemma

Renovations have begun again at the Ray Home! We are ripping out the old carpet, casings, and baseboards upstairs. I need to begin painting this week, but I cannot find a color I like. Should I go neutral? Funky? Some people say my house is too neutral. What to do?

I am looking for a great neutral (beige, brown) for the hall. I would like a pretty, creamy yellow for the twins' room and guest room (future baby's room). I am open to any and all suggestions. Whenever I begin a project on my house I freeze up. I cannot make a decision to save my life. What would you recommend? Post something on your blog if you like.

One Whole Year

-One year ago today. Sorry about the blur-

Today marks a special anniversary. We moved into our house a year ago today. It has taken a total transformation. We once had red tile (like at McDonald's) in our entry and now we have nice hardwood floors. The house did smell like smoke...and now it smells pretty good (old houses have a charming "old house" smell). We are happy to live in such a great neighborhood with so many amenities in walking distance (Blockbuster, Mexican Grill, The Gap, Walgreen's, 7-11, parks, grocery store, trains).

Ray's Old House - Kitchen

We finally had the back splash and cabinet moldings put in the kitchen. Those were the final touches we were waiting for.

Here are some before and after pictures of our kitchen. This was probably the biggest transformation of the entire house. I can't believe we did not have a kitchen for 3 whole months. We had a string of visitors during most of the renovation and they can attest to the awful condition of our kitchen and whole bottom floor.
